SPINNING WORKSHOPs
AN INTRODUCTION TO SPINNING: £80 PER PERSON, one to one teaching.
- 10AM TIL 3.30PM
Includes vegetarian lunch, tea/coffee and homemade cake. Learn how to spin your own yarn using our alpaca fibre.
The day includes:
- An introduction to alpaca fibre
- Skirting - removing inferior fleece
- Carding - using hand carders and a drum carder
- Spinning - using a traditional spinning wheel
- Plying - making a two ply yarn
- Wind a skein
- How to wash and care for your yarn
This workshop is an introduction to spinning using a traditional spinning wheel. It includes a farm tour and meeting the alpacas. It will give you valuable insight as to whether you would like to continue and master this therapeutic and relaxing skill.
BASKET WEAVING FOR BEGINNERS
MAKE A ROUND BASKET: £70 PER PERSON - 10AM TIL 4PM
Includes tea/coffee homemade cakes and all materials. Learn how to make your own round willow basket. Bring a packed lunch.
The day includes:
- An introduction to willow
- Learn basic weaving techniques including waling and pairing
- Produce a round willow basket
- Includes a farm tour

MAKE A WILLOW BIRD FEEDER OR CATALAN AND RELAX WITH A LOVELY REFLEXOLOGY TREATMENT FROM SHER CROSS: £80 PER PERSON – 10AM TIL 4PM
A restorative and relaxing day combining willow weaving to make a willow bird feeder or catalan tray, and relax with a lovely reflexology treatment with Sher Cross.
The day includes:
- An introduction to willow
- Learn basic weaving techniques including waling and pairing
- Produce either a Catalan Tray or willow birdfeeders
- A light tasty vegetarian lunch (Soup and Bread, homemade cakes)
- Includes a farm tour
